Mike Mercredi is a visionary, mentor, cultural coordinator, and instructor. He lives in the Hamlet of Fort Chipewyan, with his wife and 2 daughters.
Mike is a Denesuline a member of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nations (ACFN) Treaty 8. On the north shore of Lake Athabasca.
He is a mentor for youth in his community and part of the Red Cross at the Athabasca Delta Community High School as a Student Support Worker, leading seasonal land based hunting, fishing cultual camps for youth Mentorship. He is a member of Lake Athabasca Youth Council and helped initiate the Land Based Learning Program ongoing in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta for over a decade.
He is a student at the University of Saskatchewan School of Environment Energy Security Master’s Degree Program, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Development.
